Motorway Madness (and other short Sci-Fi stories)

Anthology of Science Fiction and Fantasy Short Stories by Patty Jansen is a get collection of fantasy stories that are sure to keep the reader satisfied. There were a couple of stories that were just ok but most were good to great. My favorite story was Straight Through the Heart which was what is must be like for a modern day Cupid. This book is definitely worth a read! The stories in this collection are varied and very entertaining. It always amazes me that an author can create whole worlds of information in such small packages.

I liked that she also said a little about what inspired her to write each one. Definitely going to check out more of her work.

The short stories in this book were both. While there were a couple of stories that contained some minor violence or sexual innuendo, there was nothing unnecessary or explicit. I like when an author uses real places, facts or history as a basis for their tales and Ms.

Jansen does that well with several of hers. Overall, it was an enjoyable read that I would recommend to anyone that likes this type of fiction. Well written bite sized stories. The stories revolve around a family's adventures with the outside universe invading their space. Their "space" is a highly unusual asteroid and some of the descriptions and technological loopholes are rather interesting.

Overall it was an amusing story with some interesting twists. Patty Jansen serves up several excellent stories of varying length. The stories read like they were written by different authors. A nice touch after each story is a note about how she got the idea or what inspired her to write it.

I remember the book also had "a sound of thunder" in it as well if that helps.
