More baffling how does he arrive home after several hundred witnesses saw him die. They're all lying or are they? I enjoyed the hour long series of Jonathan Creek as they were tightly written, leaving you with a nice balance of mystery and humour. Norman Stangerson is supposedly working in New York.

When he arrives home he sees a man returning his wallet that he dropped in a branch of Wimpy. Norman wonders how the wallet got there and surprised this person saw him there, he even states that Norman dropped hot coffee on his own foot. Norman's wife Antonia who rings the New York office and gets confirmation that her husband was there, is confused. She tells Maddie about this and she and Jonathan investigate. How can a man be in two places at once?

A deft mystery, the answer was rather simple at the end but it weaved nicely. Underlying it all is the 'will they-won't they relationship' between Maddie and Jonathan, not helped that Jonathan sleeps with his book-keeper who is smitten by him and it turns out that she is bald.
