Ritual of Ascendance

Forces that are inherently chaotic and destructive.

We work to create harmony between them, and within our world, but WE are the source of that harmony, not the forces we call on. The alternative to the Shaman's path is the Twilight Cult's path. They don't seek harmony, they seek to unleash the Elemental force's full anger.

They do this because the Burning Legion is opposed to the Elemental Spirits, and the worlds the Legion culls the Elemental Spirits lose their foothold on. The Old Gods are opposed to the Legion, for the same reason; they both wish to conquer and corrupt worlds, but for different and diametrically antagonistic purposes.

The Elemental Spirits don't really have any issue with the Old Gods. They don't serve them, but they're not opposing them either; the Elemental Lords were all Old God lieutenants and that was fine by the Spirits.

They're "worse", but Warlocks still deal with demonic forces, and we deal with Elemental ones, and both are destructive. Ours risks less, because the Elemental Spirits work with us as partners and allies rather than us making deals or control by force.

We're not nearly as different as you think. Except previously it required a ritual to become ascendant, the Shaman becomes one without any ritual what so ever. It makes no sense that the cultists would go through a dark ritual when they could just assume the ascendant form like the shaman does with little to no cost to themselves.

This leads me to believe that what the Shaman and cultists are doing is different and Blizzard is just using the ascendant model for shits and giggles or because it loks "awesome". I do not expect an ascendent shaman to look pretty wtb minor glyph plx , but what i do expect is to look different that Twilight Hammer's ascendants, which are covered in that weird spiral metal obsidium?

It simply looks wrong to me, turning into something that looks so similar identical?
