Lessons In Seduction (Greentree Sisters, book 1) by Sara Bennett

Oliver was the only interesting character but he never got to be exciting. You have got to get to exciting before page or I will just stop reading. I did not like Vivianna because of the all the wishy washy back and forth nonsense - I like him - No I absolutely do not like him - I like him. Mass Market Paperback Verified Purchase. Enjoyed every bit of the book. Great romance novel with mystery as to who she really is, but yet a security of who she knows she is! Bennett is an author that I truly have no problems recommending. Her reads are always entertaining, the hero's are always yummy, and she manages to pair them with the most extrodinary of females. This story is no different. Vivianna Greentree's life in the beginning was not a happy one. Kidnapped and than abandoned with her two little sisters they were mercifully taken in by the kind and generous Lady Greentree.

Lady Greentree raises these three little girls as if they were her own flesh and blood. Vivanna though never forgot the fact that she was indeed an orphan and eventually her path leads her to helping care of orphans as an adult. Her safe haven for children left behind though is threatened when one selfish lord takes it into his head to tear the building a down.

Sister Seduction (The Jerry Springer Show)

This just won't do so Ms. Greentree heads off to London in order to change the mind of the gentleman. If this means she must seduce him, than seduce him she will. Once she learns how that is. Lord Montegomery has no idea what his fate has in store for him. Oliver has his own reasons for closing the property that is housing the children. He plans on making good his promise to find them a new "home. When confronted though by the beautiful and sassy Vivianna he is dumbfounded by his reaction to her.

See a Problem?

She is seducing his senses and he might not every recover them. Will he be able to find a killer and the passion that he has found with Vivianna? Vivianna and Oliver are well matched protaganist. This is really a combination of historical romance with a dash of suspense added to keep thing entertaining.

Bennett has done a find job setting up her new series without taking away or derailing the current story.

  • A Family Again: A Heartwarming Medical Romance (The Three Sisters Series Book 2).
  • Cocina Antioxidante, 100 recetas exquisitas dulces y saladas (Comer Sano Y Natural/ Healthy and Natural Eating) (Spanish Edition).
  • La Jouvence de Komodo (French Edition).
  • My only complaint is in the confrontation between Oliver and the "bad guy. Secondary characters are very engaging and add just the right amount of umph to the story. This was a very good read that I have no problems recommending. I look forward to the next in this series and wait not so patiently for it to be released. Oliver feels the papers are in a hidden room at Candlewood that he plans to find even if he needs to tear down the place. Vivianna realizes she must seduce Oliver to get him to change his mind, but needs a teacher. She asks Aphrodite for lessons. The madam agrees on the condition that Vivianna explain her passion for the orphanage.

She tells her that she and her sisters were abandoned as children; Aphrodite is stunned. Oliver tells Vivianna he has fixed up another of his properties for the orphans. That night they make love. Afterward he tells her that Lawson killed Anthony and that a confrontation is coming. This enticing Victorian romantic suspense stars a strong lead couple with the secondary characters enhancing the look at the motivations of the prime duet. Most interesting to sub-genre fans is how cleverly and effortlessly Sara Bennett establishes two sequels without intruding on this fine story line. But I did enjoy the plot - the villain provided the two feather brained protagonists with actual stakes.

Full review is on my Instagram: Nov 17, christie rated it did not like it. Physical romance was rushed! There was no build up at all! Aug 29, Annii rated it it was ok Shelves: Vivianna, very much the crusader, continually harasses Sir Oliver not to destroy the house, but she meets continually with staunch resistence. Eventually, under the tutelage of one of Lo "Lessons in Seduction" is the story of Vivianna Greentree, a prim-and-proper young lady with a dark past who helps manage a home for orphans, and Sir Oliver Montgomery, an aristocrat who wants to see the orphanage which he owns torn down brick by brick to help solve the mystery surrounding his brother's death.

Eventually, under the tutelage of one of London's most famous courtesans, Vivianna attempts to seduce him into getting what she wants I found this book rather annoying. Prim and proper Vivianna suddenly under the tutelage of a courtesan? Trying to seduce a man to get what she wants? It seems like it's a rather porn-movie-esque attempt aka, unbelievable to bring sex into the book. Vivianna is an annoying, single-minded character who rather annoyed me. Despite the premise of the book practically forcing the sexual content on you, the sex was actually rather bland, partially because of the lack of emotional connection between the characters and the reader, and the lack of emotional connection between the characters themselves.

The subplot between Aphrodite and Vivianna is corny to say the least, and I never quite understood why she didn't just allow Sir Oliver to build her another orphanage when he offered. Sep 23, Paula rated it liked it Recommended to Paula by: Slightly later time peroid I don't normally enjoy Victorian historicals, but love Regencies - so far, so good! A bit like early Enoch in theme and plot. Edit - once I got to the end I could take it or leave it. Just not "real" enough for me.

Mar 25, Josephine added it Shelves: I liked the prologue however the promised seduction didn't happen for over pages following that and I ended up skimming to the end. I also wasn't sure about the twist with Aphrodite, especially when Vivianna was taking sex tips from her. Seemed a bit odd when it turned out they were mother and daughter. I will not be continuing with this series.
