Celtic Prayers from Iona
It has prayers and meditations for Monday-Saturday that can be repeated each week, and scripture readings in the index that last for the entire year. The I've taken quite a few devotional and prayer books for a spin over the past few years, and this is my favorite so far. The Celtic prayers are quite beautiful, many of them taken from the Carmina Gadelica. Recommended to people who want focus and guided mediation and prayer for their morning and evening devotions.

This is a little prayer book, written in an attractive calligraphy, for anyone wanting to immerse themselves in a modern version of ancient Celtic spirituality. It provides a simple schedule for weekday morning and evening prayers, with Psalms and Gospel readings provided in a lectionary in the back of the book. It comes out of the Iona Community which is located in the rebuilt abbey on Iona where Saint Columba and a few other Irish monks in the 6th century lived. The medieval abbey was destroyed in the 16th century Reformation but restored in the 20th century by the Church of Scotland minister, George MacLeod. It's nice for what it is. I gave it less than 5 stars for only two reasons- first, I'd like there to be more of it that is applicable to my life as a person not at Iona. Second, there was just a lot of what felt like wasted space in the book. The font is big, there's just a lot of empty white space. I feel like that could have been better utilized, either with artistry or by arranging the day's prayers better, taking up less space and being less empty. Pious humbug is an invention of the devil. Where two or more members of the Fellowship are gathered there shall be some form of common worship. Members of the Fellowship who belong to liturgically oriented churches should seek to support and attend celebrations of the Eucharist and the Divine Office as often as possible.
As a matter of continuity and fraternal spirit, the use of The Celtic Prayer Book of the Northumbria Community shall be used for at least one office per day. This book contains forms for four 4 daily monastic hours: Members will pray, at a minimum, Morning or Evening Prayer in addition to Compline daily. All members will support and participate regularly in a local worship community of their tradition. Members will endeavor to make time for daily reflection and intercession of at least 15 minutes each in the morning and evening.
