She had NO idea he even had a child. Along with her boss Ray they devised a plan that might work to show Max in a good light so things would go his way when he was awarded full custody of the child. His ex girlfriend was getting a lot of money and a house so she'd be able to take the child on occasion-when he traveled. She might catch wind of his plan and go to the press to show herself in a good light especially for the hockey team. He was attracted to her and had even kissed her as they did the chores she had listed-legal dept, clothes shopping and then lunch at Old Town.

Love this locale as I've heard it described in other books, fun place to be! Her family birthday party finds them all together, some tense and some calm moments. Everybody kept seeing them as Beauty and the Beast. After his ex girlfriend attacks Elle he has to make a decision as to what to do with the situation. Elle concentrates on the big Gala event to keep her mind off Max and Troy but it's not really working out that way.. Great read with the sex scenes, hot and steamy. A very interesting male lead who isn't your typical famous athlete who does have a brain for things other than sports.

Also, one that does have a softer side despite his nickname The Beast - and one that is a great parent who really cares about the welfare of his kid. And one that does have a lot to offer a woman b What I Liked: And one that does have a lot to offer a woman besides the glaringly obvious. Also, the chemistry was pretty great between the two leads of this story. I really rather appreciated that. Even though they both seemed a bit hesitant to begin with due to their working relationship. That is a major plus. Really good writing and it wasn't a very long read. What I Didn't Like: While it was a very interesting and engaging story, it did have a few faults.

It was slightly cheesy at times, at some points I felt I'm getting sick of heroines who play so hard to get sometimes. I mean, if you want him and he wants you just do what needs to be done and get on with your lives. I said that the writing was good, but I didn't mention that at times it kind of droned on and on for me. It almost felt a bit too wordy at times. A lot of words with no meat to them. In the end, the characters and their happily ever after won me over.

I have been on a sports romance kick, specifically hockey, for a few weeks now. Baby Under the Christmas Tree was one of those three. Elle and Max are such sweet characters. Elle grew up in a sports-centric house with 4 brothers and has a strict rule against dating athletes. So when Elle, a PR-Rep for his hockey team, is stuck with him on a work assignment? Like most HQN romances, this is short, sweet and to the point. Teresa Carpenter does a great job of getting you attached to the characters, in such a short time! I love it when an author can do that! My only complaint about this story? Despite Christmas in the title? There was no mention of Christmas until the end of the book when Elle is setting up a Christmas Tree, and again two chapters later when they set out Christmas Gifts.

That is how beautifully written Baby Under the Christmas Tree is, beautiful and funny and romantic, it's written ready for the TV Movie screen Max and Elle never Ellie! There are many references to Beauty and the Beast throughout the book, which only fueled my love for the story!

Elle grew up as the only girl in a family of sports-loving males, her and her mother supporting her brothers and father in their weekly sports engagements. Max "The Beast" Beasley has been shoved around for most of his life, he has that tough guy bravado going on, both on the hockey rink and off but underneath is a man with a love so strong for his son that he's ready to risk his entire career to provide for him.

I had a great time watching Elle and Max get thrown together while trying to figure out how to handle Troy, Max's adorable toddler son who is dropped off by a babysitter when his irresponsible mother disappears.

Elle is supposed to be keeping the player's out of trouble, but this has thrust Max Beasley, bad boy of hockey, right into the spotlight. So now Elle is put on babysitting duty and with that, Max duty, If you are looking for a sweet, warm-hearted Christmas Romance, this one tops the cake. So now Elle is put on babysitting duty and with that, Max duty, which she doesn't seem to mind as much as she thought she would, and Max doesn't seem to mind having her around either.

As these two fall for each other, and for baby Troy, what will happen when Troy's mother comes back into the picture, stirring up trouble for the new family? Will Elle and Max admit to their feelings for each other, or will Max's ex be able to tear them apart for good? This romance was a quick read, with characters that you will fall in love with.

I am a big fan of a good sports romance and I wouldn't mind Max Beasley under my Christmas tree this year. So grab this one up, and enjoy with a mug of cocoa on one of those cold, winter nights! Elle a Deputy PR Director who is being assigned to reduce the limit of damage on Max Beasley dubbed as the Beast when he determined to gain full custody of his son, Troy from his ex - girlfriend; Amber. Her job inclusive of taking care of Troy as Max is yet to arrange for someone to do so.

Troy seems to be a great baby and i really like the snippet of quotes from him. Remind me of my own baby ;. The closeness that Elle have with Troy eventhough she tried to maintain a distant failed as Troy somehow managed to crept into his heart. So is his father. Although Max is depicted to be a rough and a loner, the author has showed that he have a sensitive side which is only privy to him; the scene where he played the Piano!!

I really like that scene. It really show that soft of him. Overall, i enjoyed reading this book very much. Everything about Max is primal, the chemistry between them sizzles, but his love em and leave him attitude has Elle not wanting to get close. Seeing him with his son though has Elle torn between what her heart wants and what will end up hurting her in the end.
