The Dinotek Adventures centre around the discovery by our main protagonist, young Marlin Maxton, of some special robotic dinosaurs who have amazing life-like abilities and who form a strong bond with our young hero.

From the moment the Dinoteks are brought to life, the villainous museum curator, Oliver Grubbler and the greedy businessman Howard H. Snickenbacker are determined to capture the dinosaurs for their own benefit. However, in Book 3, Jurassic Adventure, they have an even more heinous plan, to force the dinosaurs to engage in a battle to the death with some very mean machines.

Just when the Dinoteks believed they could contentedly live out their years waiting on Jurassic Mountain for their creator, the Professor, to reappear, they are once again hunted down by Grubbler and Snickenbacker. Only through the valiant efforts of Marlin, Dacky, Protos, Flame, and the other Dinoteks will they all survive. But will it be too late to save the Dinoteks from their date with disaster?

As with the previous Dinotek Adventures books, author N. Blackman keeps the plot moving with a fast pace, plenty of action, a stellar collection of characters, and an underlying mystery to solve regarding the identity of the man who brought the Dinoteks to life. These books are a perfect fit for newly independent or reluctant readers as there is no lull in the action and the language and writing is suited for a young audience. Of course, our favorite Dinotek is still Flame, the brave and loyal T-Rex, for the obvious reason that we have a cat named Flame.

But, Protos is like an old and dependable friend who would put his life on the line for the ones he loves. I just love him as the leader of the Dinoteks. I read each of the three books in the Dinotek series to my children and they absolutely loved all three. While I did raise issues with perspective changes in Book 2, I felt this one had less changes in perspective and the way they were done worked much better in a reading out loud situation. All in all, I would say that given the topic, the unique characters, and the fast pace of the story, this book series is ideal for reading aloud and children of varied ages 6 to 12 and either gender will definitely enjoy the series.

My children 11 y. They love the story so much such that they tried making animations to recreate scenes from the story. The Dinoteks are very appealing because they combine two favourite subjects of my children: I also enjoy reading the book too, probably because I also love dinosaurs and robots: These laws help the readers to hone their logical skills, even while enjoying a fiction story. Little Women , a story about four sisters, is said to show power of women in the home and is seen as both conservative and radical in nature.

The character of Jo is observed as having a rather contemporary personality and has even been seen as a representation of the feminist movement. It has been suggested that the feminist themes in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz result from influence of Baum's mother-in law, Matilda Gage , an important figure in the suffragist movement.

Baum's significant political commentary on capitalism, and racial oppression are also said to be part of Gage's influence.
