Howl (Howl #1)

So he fakes a doggy injury and Tim takes him home. For Tim it's love at first sight. He doesn't have any friends, and Chance that's the name he gives the dog , is all he has now. Tim was such a sweet guy.. I also loved Chance, the border collie. I have a border collie of my own and they are awesome and extremely loyal. Chance knew who Tim was and what he needed before Lance did. It was cute and sweet and really funny. I won't go into the rest of the story It's not extremely steamy, but it's also a short book, so I think it was perfect the way it was.

This book made me smile and swoon and happy!! I can't wait to read the next book: Thank you Elsbeth for recommending ; View all 16 comments. I've had this tbr for a while now and finally took the plunge. This is my first book by this author. It was really sweet and cute. It was a nice easy read. I loved the different take on shifters with the "quickened". He'd had a rough life and deserved someone to love him and take care of him. Lance took a little bit for me to warm up to him but I was glad to see him come around. But Lance's mom, Lily, almost ruined it for me.

She got on my nerves so bad in the beginning. I was sitting he I've had this tbr for a while now and finally took the plunge. I was sitting here thinking that Lance was the alpha of the pack but she didn't treat him with the respect he deserved. It was obvious he didn't "rule with an iron fist" but I wanted him to give her the what for and not let her talk to him like she did. And her meddling just caused Tim a bunch of heartache. She does get better and I was glad to see that she accepted Tim even though he was a man and not a woman. I am definitely interested in Roman's story.

I feel so bad for him. He deserves a HEA. Sep 25, Sheziss rated it liked it Shelves: But this formula is nothing without appeal and talent, and Eli Easton has loads of that to turn a well-used storyline into something attractive and hilarious. Why the hell nobody came up with this before?

It makes so much sense! I try to imagine my own dog acting as human and that only makes me smile. Just imagining him being the hero in a book makes swoon. So yes, positive vibes everywhere! However, I felt this could have gone further. The first half of the book or more can be considered a funny tale rather than a romance. I never got bored but I had the feeling the real crush comes very late in the book, and although the posterior development is believable, it was rushed and a little disappointing in how easy things and misunderstandings are sorted out.

No matter how you look at this, this is no good start for any kind of relationship, and much less of the romantic kind! Despite this, I got the impression this book needed to be much longer, needed to go further, in order to form a real bond together, based on true and clean feelings, so from a healthy and safe attachment a blooming relationship is formed.

I believe it spoils the whole book. It was rather silly and childish. Yes, the boss is a bad guy, the MC and the whole town are the good guys. But was THAT really necessary? Anyway, on to the next one! Jan 27, Chelsea rated it it was amazing Recommended to Chelsea by: Loved Tim, he was so adorable and funny, had me chuckling throughout the entire book! Everyone knows this is a cute story as all Eli Easton stories are and that they should read this by now, so I won't sing its praises, but I will contribute to the cute dog pictures.

Matthew Shaw's voice were amazing!!! Matthew had me engaged from the first page till the last. I spent the large majority of yesterday listening to this is one sitting, stupid social life was the only reason I didn't get to finish it. View all 6 comments. Dog shifters isn't a theme that works for anything but a fluffy, slightly cheesy romance book. This was exactly what it promised to be. Still, I can't give it more than 3 stars because although it did have its funny moments, the romance left a lot to be desired for me. And there was the slightly icky, stalkerish vibe I got from Lance that made me a bit reluctant to rate higher.

XD First of all, Ms. Easton's husband's idea of doing DOG shifters is brilliant. Imagine a guy that's loyal, protective, and headstrong, who wouldn't want a guy like that? Unlike wolf shifters, they like to be around people. Easton's take on dog shifters. Even though I have nothing to compare with this, I can tell it's a really good interpretation. Read the story to find out how foolish they are. I'm not sure if I liked Aw. I'm not sure if I liked Lance. He seems like a dog, even when he's human.

I sympathized with Tim. Good thing he ended up with someone who will take care of him. Also, the story ended well and really adorable. If you guys want some dog shifter sex, you have to be patient. Because it occured towards the end of the story. NSFW art Don't look if you find two men together offending. Roman's story is next! View all 4 comments. However, if you haven't gotten to reading this, here's my two cents.

Easton is one of my favorite authors ever since she reeled me in with Superhero. She has the ability to bring out a visceral reaction, whether that's agonizing over the angst, squirming due to the UST, delighting in the smex, or just grinning at the love. Who doesn't want to feel that? This wasn't your t 4. This wasn't your typical paranormal nor your expected contemporary romance.

There was a little disbelief since the two worlds had to be melded together so closely, and perhaps there were some rough edges in trying to make it realistic but fantastical at the same time. Regardless, I loved the emotional journey these two MC's went through and that's what won me over.

Different for sure, but still just as enjoyable. Feb 28, Dalia rated it really liked it Shelves: This was such an enjoyable read. It's so adorable and funny with the right amount of fellings thrown in. It just made me feel all warm and mushy inside. Feb 28, Macky rated it it was amazing. Mad Creek is a town populated by a group of people keeping a pretty sensational secret. A secret an unwitting Tim Weston is totally clueless about, but he desperately needs to escape his past, so when a client offers him the use of her cabin it's the perfect place for him to find sanctuary.

The problem is shy Tim is keeping some personal secrets of his own so when he first encounters the deliciously dour Sheriff Lance 'McHottie' Beaufort, his inability to communicate without looking like he's go Mad Creek is a town populated by a group of people keeping a pretty sensational secret. The problem is shy Tim is keeping some personal secrets of his own so when he first encounters the deliciously dour Sheriff Lance 'McHottie' Beaufort, his inability to communicate without looking like he's got something to hide and an unfortunate good deed that day with a stoned hitch hiker, lead an already wary Lance to the conclusion that this young attractive stranger, who says he's a gardener, might be up to no good and if that's the case then he's going to put his nose to the ground and sniff out what he's up to Which is quite literally what he decides to do, because like the majority of other town members, the black haired, blue eyed gorgeous Sheriff Beaumont is a Quickened; a fourth generation Border Collie shifter who with his heightened senses decides that if he can get into Tim's home undercover with his super sensitive nose skills, he can find out just what he's planning to sow in his greenhouse, because there are rumours that Marijuana growers are threatening to move into the area.

So if it turns out that Tim is a part of this gang he can nip it in the bud once and for all! What happens after that is delightful. To insinuate himself into Tim's life, he has to shift into 'Chance', a stray dog that a lonely, starved for affection Tim adopts and falls in love with. Trying to juggle life as Chance and Lance he finds himself becoming strangely attracted to Tim in his human form but also loving the deep connection he forms with his new 'master' as a pet. Something he doesn't factor into the equation. The whole thing is a mixture of sweet, witty, tender, funny and just plain adorable!

And there's a supporting cast who are all just as endearing in their own ways. Apart from the bad guys, there wasn't one character who I didn't end up either liking or loving. A fiercely protective German Shepherd deputy Fred Beagle, owner of the local post office no guesses what breed he is! Lance's scheming, meddling, at times exasperating but ultimately lovable Border Collie mum. If you're a dog lover then I defy anyone not to be completely taken in by this motley crew of marvellous mutts! For rest of review follow Link: Feb 02, Adam rated it really liked it Shelves: After reading most of Eli Easton's books last year, I can definitely say that I'm a fan.

She's incredibly skilled at writing characters that I can really connect to on a personal level. But I honestly didn't think that a book about a town of dog shifters would be so good. I'm glad that I was wrong! Tim Weston moves to Mad Creek to make a fresh start in his life. He's shy and awkward, but he wants to succeed in this new town by selling his vegetables and specially-cultivated roses. Lance Beaufort is the sheriff of Mad Creek, and he's on the lookout for possible drug-related activity. He's wary of newcomers, and Tim's odd behaviour and plant supplies give off warning bells.

I'm not sure I'd call this book a comedy, but it's fun and low-angst. There's a cast of town characters, each of them with their own quirks. Lance and Tim's first few interactions were entertaining. It was great to see Tim's character growth, which could be gauged just be comparing his interactions with Lance. There were some brief moments of angst, but the book stays fairly light throughout. I'm so glad that Lance actually grovelled for what he did, and that he understood how wrong he was.

1 Hour Howling Wolves White Noise

If he'd just brushed it off, I don't think I would have liked him very much. But in the end, the romance, and the reconciliation, was entirely believable and sweet. My only complaint is that I would have liked some more interaction, before that first date, between Lance and Tim while Lance was a human. It wasn't a big deal, but it would have been nice to see the two connecting more as humans, rather than reading about how Lance felt after spending all of that time with Tim in dog-form.

Oh and the sex was a bit weird. The sniffing and snuffling But once they got around to the main event it was pretty hot. Overall, I really enjoyed 'How to Howl at the Moon'. Easton could have easily gone to the werewolf formula, but she tried something a bit unique with these dog shifters and it really paid off. I can't wait to read Roman's story next! See a Problem?

I absolutely adored this book!!! While reading it I either had a huge smile on my face or I was bawling like a baby We have one adorable, shy, talks a mile a minute when nervous geeky man: I fell for him from the first moment, he was just so lovable - TIM and on hot, cranky but softhearted sheriff - LANCE which turns into an adorable and hilarious border collie and becomes Tim's best friend: D All kinds of shenanigans happen and we meet other wonderful characters like Lance's mom or Roman which will have his own book: And the shifter part was handled very nicely and was quite original if you ask me!

So looking forward to the next book! Feb 02, Trisha Harrington rated it really liked it Shelves: This was an awesome read! I really liked this story. The characters were great, even though I wanted to slap Lance for the way he was acting and I couldn't blame Tim for being angry. But Lance ended up being really awesome and he did the right thing in the end. Lance's mom was also really nice.

She didn't mean to hurt anyone. And she was really supportive, which was great. The writing style was awful and the characters felt flat and had no emotion to them. I felt like I was reading a poor fan fiction. View all 4 comments. Wow When I first started reading Howl I realized that the book was more for young teens and that I might not enjoy the story, but I was wrong because I found myself liking the characters and the storyline so much that I didn't want to put the book down.. Now I'm ready to start book two.. Nope It was all good till about half way through. Then it just got too dramatic and thend nope just nope.

Sadly, while there were some clever moments in the use of werewolves, the characters themselves were rather thin and underdeveloped, or presented with quirks that needed far more than a quick mention or repeated and often overused phrases to build them with some depth. As a wolf, Samara is finding things changed — two alphas wanting her to join their packs, with no real explanation as to why she was turned.

Oh yeah — she has to make a choice because of strife between the two packs, and her bloodline allows her to make that choice. Let me elaborate — we have a convoluted storyline of the wolf, we have the teenaged girl hiding her wolf side in school and at home. And we have secrets. Lots of secrets — all leading to an ending. There is no real ending. Not even a solid conclusion to bring us to some sort of satisfaction. Narration has been provided by Meghan Kelly, the second or third title I have reviewed that she has narrated. Her performance and the emotion that she brought to a book solidly lacking in substance kept me listening on, a clear bonus for a story so full of issues.

I received an AudioBook copy of the title for purpose of honest review.

  • I was not compensated for this review: Feb 23, Siomara rated it liked it. It feels to me like it was written for a more younger crowd. Also, it seems like with this series that each book will end in a somewhat cliff hanger. Apr 09, P. I reviewed this on my book blog http: This is a first book from these authors for me,it is the first book in a series.

The storyline is enjoyable.. The story had its good parts and bad parts. The good,I enjoyed the characters bantering, getting a feel for Samara's home and school life. I was drawn into the book.. There is a part in the book when Samara is Bitten by I reviewed this on my book blog http: There is a part in the book when Samara is Bitten by a Wolf its a game changer,However she is bitten and its like oops paper cut.

Not I was just attacked by a wolf lets get some emergency help.. The way the Characters acted after that was rather unbelievable.. I had to read it twice to make sure I read it correctly. This may just be something nit picky on my part but having to read Samara feels this way,Samara went there,Samara decided to do this was flat out annoying. I would have rather read She chose to do this,She wanted that etc. It got so repetitive.. I wanted to shout that I knew the main characters name already. I also found it really odd that Samara's parents were referred to as Mr.

Again it may be nit picky on my part but im so used to reading,"Her mom said, or Samara's Dad said etc. I feel like some basic editing needed to be worked on. That being said if you can overlook certain aspects of the book then its a very very enjoyable start to the series. Ive started the 2nd book and am enjoying it so far. Its a new twist on a Cute werewolf series. Give it a chance Read it and I hope you enjoy it. Apr 07, P. Samara McKinley is friends with the most popular girl in high school, Emma. Emma is always having house parties. At one in particular, Samara notices that the new guy, Luke, has been staring at her all night. Samara has been crushing on him bad. She finds out later that night that Emma has a crush him.

Luckily for Samara, he blows off Emma when she makes a move. Samara has never seen a wolf up that close. Lu Samara McKinley is friends with the most popular girl in high school, Emma. Luke finally makes a move and asks Samara out. The date ends abruptly when she gets bitten by a wolf. Not only does she have to worry about this. Her brother, Seth, his having bouts of anger problems and often leaves the house for a few days at a time. Luke also starts to act distant when Samara needs him most. Samara turns into a wolf at night. I just was annoyed at some things that Luke said.

I might just be picky though. If you like werewolf romance stories, you should give this one a try. This is a very clean book and I recommend it for the teens that like werewolves. We start off our story with Samara who is a normal teen that has best friends, goes to parties and even has crushes.

Until she goes on her first date and that is when things start going crazy for her. She gets bit by a wolf and this opens up a whole new world for her that she never knew existed. The crazy thing is that the packs want her to be on their side and she has too chose one or the other. It is a huge decision for her to pick because she knows people on both sides of the packs.

The ending left us with a pretty dramatic ending that will make you want to read book two to see what is going to happen next. I can only hope that Samara will try to get answers or at least find out more about her grandpa because it seems that he may have left some information behind for the "female" werewolf of the family. Or at least that is what I gathered. The story line is very simple not much drama or action which I think some people may enjoy. For me I enjoyed the book and I think I am going to have to get book two in paperback to match this one.

It was a good start to this series. The book was written well. It kept my interest throughout the book. You could tell the characters are going through the normal high school drama. They also have the additional drama and issues of being werewolves. I did enjoy the characters. Samara is very family orientated and loyal. She's also a typical high school female with learning who she is and dealing with her love life.

She seemed to take being bitten by a werewolf harshly at first, but she got used to it. I could tell she was frustrated with her Alpha not letting her know who he is. Luke seemed like a decent guy.

Even though he liked Samara, he tried to give her space knowing that her decision she had to make could affect them both. He didn't want to complicate her decision any further than it already was. The members of each pack had different and strong characteristics. You could tell how well each packs' members blended with their own pack. Many of their personalities were similar or had similar views. I love Meghan as a narrator I just wish she was given better material I see good things to come for Meghan!

Howl is a young story I usually love YA I do like Samara and Luke The ending was cute, the pack is adorable I don't think I will continue this series Thank You, Audiobookblast dot com I don't ever give books a bad review. I'm a big reader and have read over a hundred books and there not many I didn't enjoy.

And even if I wasn't crazy about it I'd finish it. I couldn't even finish it. I forced myself to read page after page before I finally put it and and was like The wording was something a twelve year old could have written. The plot was boring and Samara was just a boring character. Eddie Quist leaves yellow smiley face stickers as his calling card in several places throughout The Howling.
